Uni-President

Taiwan's largest publicly owned company Uni-President signed a Php400 million joint venture agreement with RFM Corporation to engage in instant noodle business. The manufacturing plant will occupy a two-hectare area at Philtown Technology Park in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.


SHI Manufacturing & Servives (Phils.) Inc.

SHI is a Japanese company engaged in the manufacture and assembly of parts for semiconductor encapsulation equipment, cryogenic cooling system, coiling and molding for linear motors and fiber optical connectors using metal injection molding systems. They will locate at the First Philippine Industrial Park.


Philippine China South Ocean Xing Ye Tobacco Corp.

The company will initially invest Php 81 million and employ 260 workers within 5 years. They will be engaged in tobacco processing within Zamboecozone whereby 70% will be for export.

Purefoods Hormel Co.

The company has launched a Php1.4 billion expansion program in an 8.5-hectare property within the Laguna Technopark in Alaminos, Laguna. The project is a joint venture of the Purefoods and US-based Hormel Foods International Co.. They will manufacture world-class meat products that will cater to local and world market.



Philbest Canning Corp.

Philbest is a wholly owned Filipino corporation engaged in tuna processing for export in the US and European markets. The company was inaugurated recently in General Santos City.


Samsung Electronics

Philippine Samsung Electronics Corporation recently signed its PEZA registration to engage in the design, manufacture and sale of electronic products, including optical disk drive products, their components and parts. The company will locate at the Calamba Premiere Industrial Park in Calamba, Laguna. The project will cost Php1.91 billion and its products will be exported to Europe, US and Asia. It will employ about 1,141 workers.


Juken Sangyo

This Japanese company will invest Php960 million to establish a 4.5-hectare wood processing plant at the Subic Technopark. It is expected to employ 2000 workers. Its products will be mainly exported to Japan.


HKT Group

The company is a leading Japanese producer of parts and components for heavy-duty trucks and buses. It will start commercial operation it its Carmelray II facilities this coming August 2001.


Edward Keller

Edward Keller Philippines recently broke ground at Carmelray I in Canlubang, Laguna for the construction of its new corporate headquarters. At present, Edward Keller focuses on food blends and ingredients that serve the needs of manufacturers of processed meats, confectionery, dairy and snack foods.


Rohm Mechatech Philippines

The company will manufacture precision molds and dies and their parts. The company will locate at the People Technology Complex.


DAIHO (Phils.) Inc.

The company is a local subsidiary of DAIHO Industrial Company Ltd. of Osaka, Japan, has signed an agreement with Lima Land, Inc. and has celebrated its groundbreaking for an US$8 million investment on a 2-hectare lot in Lima Technology Center as part of its expansion in the Philippines. DAIHO is engaged in the manufacture of plastic molding products.
